Join us for a unique opportunity to hear from and connect with the journalists, editors, and media professionals navigating these shifts firsthand, as we dig into what’s working, what’s at risk, and where the Nashville story goes from here.

Steve Cavendish is the president of Nashville Public Media, Inc., and editor of the Nashville Banner. A 30-year veteran of newspapers including the Chicago Tribune and The Washington Post, Steve returned to Nashville in 2011 and edited The City Paper, Washington City Paper and the Nashville Scene.

Ken Paulson is the director of the Free Speech Center and a professor in the Recording Industry department at Middle Tennessee State University. He is also dean emeritus of MTSU’s Scott Borchetta College of Media and Entertainment. Ken is a former editor-in-chief of USA Today and remains a columnist on the paper’s board of contributors, writing about media and First Amendment issues.
